Papertrey February Blog Hop Challenge

Blog-hop-logo

It's Time for Papertrey's February  Blog Hop Challenge, and here is the inspiration photo.
Feb Blog Hop Inspiration

While I love the rich colours in the photo, I found it a bit heavy for a card, but gave it a whirl, anyways. Here is my take on the photo. I used Garland Garland to cut out the wreath in Gold Cardstock, and the flowers in various shades of pinks and purples. I heat embossed the sentiment (from Graceful Greetings ll) in gold, right on the Smokey Shadow card base. And you see the fig seeds in the photo? That's why I put all the dots around the wreath! Lol.
I apologize for the horrible photo...I sure wish I had put a different background behind the card, and used a better camera than what my iPad has, but I have to get this posted!!

PTI Stamps 2015

2015
I was surprised by how much I loved Twig Wreath stamp and die set, so I decided to make a Christmas wreath. I liked the colours in Betty Wright's card, which was highlighted on Nichole's blog, and decided to Case hers.
Twig Wreath - Betty

Here is what I came up with. I added some gold, and omitted the Autumn Rose, focussing instead on Pure Poppy and Scarlet Jewel. The green inks are the new Prairie Grass (love it!) and Simply Chartruese. So my first card for 2017 is now done!

PTI Stamps: 2014

I had a difficult time choosing which stamp set to use for this challenge, but I finally settled on Feathery Finery. I haven't used it much, so dug it out.
I've totally Case's Betsy's card, seen here.

And this is what I've come up with.

PTI Stamps 2013

Some of my favourite PTI stamp sets are from this year! I love Hands of Time and Pedal Pusher. In fact, I finally just bought Pedal Pusher a few months ago, after having it on my Wish List forever!
Here is a card I made for a friend of mine who lives part of the year in Canada, and part in Palm Springs (lucky guy!!). He rides his bike a lot in Palm Springs, so thought this card would be appropriate for his birthday. (I hope he didn't notice that the bike is a girl's bike!)

And one of my favourite cards made with Hands of Time is this one. I loved how the painted wash background turned out. This card was made for my son, who was celebrating 5 years being cancer-free! This March, he will be 7 years cancer-free. So thankful...

PTI Stamps 2009

I don't own any stamps from 2009, but the Simple Valentine stamp set inspired me to make this card for my oldest granddaughter, who turned 11 in Feb.
I used PTI's Valentine cover plate, as well as Valentine: Foxy (not sure if those names are correct!)
Here is what I came up with.

PTI Stamps:2010

Wow... I can't believe I have been buying PTI stamps since 2010!! I still love the Sweet Peas from Year of Flowers, and have Cased my own card, seen in the samples above. (Thanks for the shout out, Nichole!) Here is my  new card.

Embroidered Blooms - Nichole 2

Embroidered Blooms is a great stamp set. I was really taken with Nichole's card, seen above, so wanted to Case hers. Just loved the colours she chose!

And here is what I came up with:

PTI's stamps 2011

Boy Basics: Frog Hop is one of the first stamp sets I purchased from PTI, and I have used it many times over the years. I just used it again to create a Valentine's card for my youngest Granddaughter, who just turned five years old. I think it's time I retired it, though, as I have given cards to everyone in my family made with this stamp set! The sentiment is from Tremendous  Treats:Valentine's.
