I wanted to have another go at this technique, so put together this card this afternoon. I used 3 different colours of embossing powders for the 3 flowers (white, blush and butter), but stuck to just white for the leaves. I had trouble coming up with a background for the focal image, and I'm still not totally happy with it, but it's taken me forever, so it's time to just. walk. away!
Thanks for looking!
All stamps and papers are PTI; Spellbinders Squares dies; TH Distress Inks.

Make it Monday #109
This Monday, PTI has challenged us to use a wash underneath an embossed image. I am used to embossing first, and then colouring, so this was something new to me. I used Distress Inks (since I don't own any re-inkers), stamped, then embossed with white. I then embossed the centers of the flowers with various embossing powders, then finished the card off with Enamel Dots and some Washi tape.
Thanks for looking!
Stamps: Funky Florals
Ink: (Distress Inks) Picked Raspberry, Ripe Persimmon
Embossing Powders: White, green, blue, orange and pink
Enamel Dots (My Mind's Eye), Washi Tape (Michaels)

Papertrey Ink Blog Hop - March 2013
PTI has challenged us to use sequins on our projects, which I am glad of, because I wanted to try this! My sequins are the "fluff" on the dandelion, blowing away as a person blows on the dandelion, making a wish.
I apologize for the lightness of the photo--couldn't seem to get the light correct.
I used "Daydreams" stamp set, and heat embossed the flower and leaves, and used some Spellbinders ovals to frame the image. The background has been sponged using Distress inks.
Thanks for looking!

Make it Monday, #107
Nichol challenged us to use an acetate backing for our cards, and since I have never done that, I knew I had to accept this challenge! We were also challenged to use Copics, which I didn't realize till I had almost completed the card, so I added some small butterflies, coloured them with Copics, then applied a little glitter pen to them. (I sure wish I had dies for the small butterflies!)
Edited to add: I didn't realize this was so similar to another entry! Great minds must think alike--this was an entirely unplanned CASE!!
All materials used are Papertrey Ink, unless otherwise indicated.
Paper: white cardstock (Staples 110#), Hawaiian Shores
Stamps: Polka Dot Parade, Beautiful Butterflies
Inks: Raspberry Fizz, Spring Moss, Hawaiian Shores, Summer Sunrise
Other: T.H. Liquid Pearls, Sakura Glitter Pen

Make it Monday #106 (Number 4)
Okay--I think this in my last one! I must say, it's quite addicting seeing all of the different variations you can get using 2 inks.
I used a whole slew of inks this time! The peony and the leaves may be two-toned, but there are quite a few colours used throughout the whole card.

I can't seem to stop making these two-toned flowers! They're a lot of fun--so much fun that I also did the leaves and the word "happy" in two tones, as well :)
I used 5 different inks for this card, and was pleased by how it turned out. Thanks for looking!

Make it Monday #106 (Number 2)
For this card, I dug out Rosie Posie and my Kalaidacolour ink pad (Desert Heat). I used this for the largest and smallest flowers. For the middle flower, I use Dandelion (Memento) and Summer Sunrise inks. The leaves are Spring Moss ink, and Bamboo (Memento) around the outside, in a rock and roll technique. Other inks used are Chocolate Brown and Kraft.
Other stamps and materials used: Think Big #24, Sew Easy Borders, Cane Impression Plate, yellow ribbon and Copics. Paper is Rustic Cream and Kraft.
This is my second card using warm colours, which is unusual for me. I tend to use the cooler colours of the spectrum. Maybe I'll use those next time :)
Thanks so much for looking, and your comments are always appreciated!!

Make it Monday #106
This week, PTI has challenged us to use 2 colours on our stamps. I've chosen "Cutting Garden", as it has just arrived, and I was wanting to try it out!
PTI products used were Berry Sorbet and Summer Sunrise inks for the flowers and Bamboo Leaves and Olive Garden (Memento) for the leaves. The flowers are mounted on Fine Linen Bitty Dot paper, Dark Sage cardstock (Gina K Designs), and a card base of Rustic Cream.
I love this 2-tone look, and may try it again, but with different colours next time.
