July 2018 Blog Hop

It's time for the Papertrey Ink Blog Hop, and here is our inspiration photo. They've just released a few ocean and underwater-themed stamp sets and dies, so I'm sure lots of people will be using them for this hop. I sure am!

And here's my effort, using the "Reef Builder" dies and the "Salt Air Sentiments".
I watercoloured my panel to imitate an underwater scene, and use the dies to create the coral, fish etc. Some Glossy Accents on the fish, as for some bubbles, adds some bling, as well as the Wink of Stella on some of the coral and fish.

I used some pop dots for some dimension, trying to create some depth.

Happy hopping, and as always, thanks for looking!

Make it Monday #329-Making Stencils from Die Cuts

I actually found time to make a card today! It's been awhile since I've participated in a MIM, but I'm happy to have another card made for my stash. I *finally* received the dies for the Farmer's Market Florals, so used that stamp set to create a card today. I also received a couple of the Mix and Mat dies, so used the Plaid Die to die cut a sheet of Dura-Lar for my stencil. I like using Dura-Lar because I can re-use the stencil and any ink that gets on it from sponging rubs off easily. Great challenge, courtesy of Melissa!

Here is the stencil, cut from the Dura-Lar, all nice and clean and ready for the next use!
Thanks so much for looking, and for your encouraging words.
