PTI Feb. 2018 Blog Hop

A quick post to enter this card I made for my youngest granddaughter for Easter. I chose to go with the colours, and Easter theme, for this month's blog hop.

I went with the green grass, as branches in my wreath. I also picked up on the pink eggs and turquoise accents, with a little yellow. My granddaughter loves pink, so I added extra in the flowers and mat.

Make it Monday #312 - Framing Sentiments

Laurie Schmidlin has us framing our sentiments (or images) for this week's Make It Monday. I used  "Pen and Ink" for my sentiment--which is framed using dies from the A2 die set--and Bitty Bouquets for the flower embellishments. A few Lucy's Jewels and some Stickles for the flower centers, and it's done.

Have a great day, and thanks for looking!

PTI Anniversary Day 10: Stripes

Today's challenge is all about stripes. I went with a retro design, masculine card, using PTI's stripes coverplate, as well as some of their Smokey Shadow striped paper. The sentiment is one of the Think Big series.
We're having a lovely sunny day, today, so took advantage of it for this photo. Thanks for looking!

PTI's Anniversary-Day 8 Colour Challenge

Today's challenge is all about colour. I am drawn to Heather Nichol's style, with her use of kraft, yet I hardly ever create a card with kraft. So today I'm changing that. I Cased her card, as well as the colours she's used to make mine.
First, here's the colours I used, as well as a look at Heather's card. (I hope it's not too blurry to read!)

And here is my card, using Flower Favourites. It's been a fun anniversary, and thanks for looking!

PTI 11th Anniversary Day 7-Using Dies only

PTI has challenged us to use dies only for a card. I used the Garden Garland dies, as well as a sentiment from Graceful Greetings. I did have to stamp the sentiment onto the die cut to make it more legible. Hope that still counts as "dies only"! I finished off the flowers with Wink of Stella pen, and  black enamel drops or jewels.

PTI 11th Anniversary Day 5

Today's challenge is all about stamps that are being retired. I used "Cutting Garden" for my card.

Funny story.
I Googled this stamp set for inspiration and noticed one card, in particular. I especially liked the colours. Here it is.
So I grabbed the inks that I thought had been used, and proceeded to Case (sort of "copy", cough, cough) that card. It wasn't till I was almost finished that I noticed the papers used as a background for the photo. they are papers I often use as a background. What great minds, I'm thinking! Well, turns out, the card was mine! Sheesh. Losing it, I tell ya...

Here's my Case (aka "Copy"). I think I like my original, better! The stamping was less watery.

Anyways, thanks for looking!

PTI Day 4 Challenge: Florals

I used "Especially You", and embossed the flower in gold powder. I then watercoloured it with my tube paints. I stenciled on a soft background in Distress Oxide ink. (Man, that stuffs glides on so easily!) This card is going to my mother, who turns 92 next week!

PTI Day 3 Challenge:Transformation Tuesday

I made a card for the last challenge using Beautiful Berries: Spring, as well as the Quatrefoil coverplate. I wanted to use more of the berries this time, and just a clean and simple background. I liked this design better, so made 2 cards!

Thanks for looking!

PTI's 11th Anniversary Challenge #1

It's PTI's 11th anniversary and I am hoping to celebrate along with them this year. I'm often out of town this time of year, since I usually celebrate my granddaughters' birthdays, on Feb 1st and 9th, but I'm home this year. I used Lizzie's cute card, seen here, as inspiration.

And here is what I came up with.

I used PTI's "Beautiful Berries: Spring" and the cover plate "Quatrefoil", which I haven't used in a long time. It's good to get out those neglected supplies!
