Make It Monday #188: Stamping Ombre Backgrounds (Post #2)

I'm back again with another stamped, ombre background. This time I used Super Stripes, as the stamps in this set are long enough to stamp on the diagonal. I started in the middle, then did progressive colours on both sides. The focal point is Phrase Play #6, and since the background is like a rainbow, I chose the sentiment from Up, Up and Away:Sentiments, selectively stamping the parts I wanted. I finished it off with an enamel dot, resembling the sun. Not sure I liked that part, but it's done, now...

This next card is not a stamped, ombre background, but a watercoloured "rainbow", instead. It is a "get well" card for our great-niece, who wasn't feeling well. The daisy die is from SSS, and the sentiment is again, from Up, Up and Away (PTI). I hope you can see the sun's rays, from the Sunshine Impression plate, on the yellow, background paper.
Thanks for looking!

  2. Both cards are beautiful...I love your impressed rainbow on the second card!

  3. Great job on both cards, Kathryn! I almost used Super Stripes for my ombré, but changed my mind. Hope to try this technique again when I have time.

  4. Love love love that rainbow background you created!!! Looks amazing!
