Here is a card I've made for a good friend, whose birthday is in a couple of weeks. I used the Diagonal Cover Plate to cut my watercoloured background. I actually felt brave enough to use my Zigs, after seeing Dawn create such a beautiful background with them. I wasn't as successful using my waterbrush, though, and ended up grabbing a wide paintbrush and a jar of water to blend the colours. And I know that Lupines are not naturally this colour, but call it "artistic license" ;)
Thanks for looking, and thank you to all the caring people who wished me well last week! You are all such a great bunch!
Very pretty card! I love the color contrasts between the flowers and the background.
ReplyDeleteLove your blues and of course the not found in nature lupine color. ha ha - if I like a color I use it too even if the flower doesn't "come" in that color. very pretty card.
ReplyDeleteArtistic license is the spice of card making. I like to create pink or purple birds anytime I think it fits (chuckle). I think the color combination is beautiful! I haven't been brave enough to purchase Zigs, but these are certainly vivid colors.
ReplyDeleteA beautiful gradient background to showcase your lovely Lupines Kathryn! And I think your artistic license worked out just fine as I love the colors you used...lovely, lovely card!! :0)
ReplyDeleteKakthryn, it's beautiful. I love your lupines and my personal thought is that reality doesn't come into it when playing with crafting supplies. I think that's why we do it. Gorgeous blues in your background too. I've wanted that floral set since it first came out and I think you might have pushed me over the edge. Thanks for nothing :)
ReplyDeleteLove your background - so soft with gradient color. The flowers are brilliant and color rich and vibrant!
ReplyDeleteLovely card! Love your focal point!!
ReplyDeleteOooh imagine if they were ooh la la! Love the background and your pretty Lupines. One of my favorites!
ReplyDeleteYour blues look wonderful behind your beautiful flowers! I think flowers can be any color we want them to be!
ReplyDeleteVery nice! I really like the colors you used.
ReplyDeleteThis is gorgeous. Love the gradient colors in your flowers as well as your background.

ReplyDeleteArtistic License? I love it, Kathryn! Your card is stunning with the diagonal background and brightly colored lupines. I definitely need more practice blending my Zigs. Dawn made it look so easy. 😀
