PTI MIM # 336 Faux Gilded Leaves

Laurie S. showed us some beautiful cards made with embossing powders and Leaf Prints stamp and dies. I love that set, so decided to use the smaller of the "maple" leaves to create my card. I used the Pinked Edge Mat and 3 embossing powders: gold, platinum and copper. I used the copper powder to double emboss the veins on the leaves, as well as to apply powder around the edge of the matted layer of cardstock, to match the leaves and sentiment (Banner Sentiments). I sprinkled a little Heidi Swapp gold spray, but it kind of blobbed out, rather than a fine spray. Oh, well...

A close up of the embossing powders used.

A fun challenge! Thanks, Laurie!

  1. Such a beautiful card, Kathryn, and love those embossed leaves and the edge! See you must have embossed under the leaves, too. Great to see you participating!

  3. What an elegant look with all the embossing! Look at how delicate the leaf veins are! That's impressive embossing! Even the "blobbing" looks fabulous. Looks like it was on-purpose as a decorative element. :* Happy Autumn Day!
