Make it Monday, #114 Take Two

Hi. I have 4 re-inkers, and this card used 3 of them. Since they were browns and greens, I went with a masculine card. My husband liked it, and said, "It looks like a 'camo" card!" (Camouflage, that is...) Lol! This card is on a kraft card base, which is difficult to see as it's the same colour as my craft mat.
Thanks for looking!
Materials are all PTI, unless otherwise indicated:
Tim Holtz Distress re-inkers: Antique Linen, Vintage Photo, Sage Green
Other ink (on tag) is Dark Chocolate
Stamps:Boutique Borders:Father
Paper: Kraft, Dark Chocolate, Vintage Cream
Other: Boutique Borders Die #3, Jute twine, Cuttlebug embossing folder (houndstooth)
I am also entering this card at the Simon Says Stamp challenge:Anything goes

Make it Monday, #114

Dawn McVey, at Papertrey Ink, has challenged us this week to use our re-inkers and blow the ink with a straw. Well, since I have only a few re-inkers, I decided to improvise... I used 3 Perfect Pearls mixtures, and dropped them onto my Smokey Black cardstock, one at a time, then blew like mad through a small straw. (I haven't done this technique since elementary school!)
Thanks for looking!
Supplies are all PTI, unless otherwise noted.
Stamps: Happiness in Bloom, Sketched Shapes
Paper: Raspberry Fizz, Smokey Shadow, blue scrap for "flag"
Inks: Raspberry Fizz, Smokey Shadow, Pearlescent Lavender (Brilliance) on the flag
Dies: Limitless Layers:Ovals, Sketched Shapes
Other: Perfect Pearls: Berry Twist, Perfect Pearl, Heirloom Gold

April Blog Hop- PTI

Here is another "tilted" card :)  I think this is fun, and I wish I had more time to do some more!

I used PTI's "Stylish Sentiments:Birthdays", as well as "BBasics:Superstripes" and "BB:Birthday Fun" to make this card.
Thanks for looking!

PTI April Blog Hop

Papertrey's blog hop is all about "being tilted", so I've tilted a Tag Sale Die #5 on my card. I've  used a text stamp as the background on the tag and distressed the edges with Melonberry ink. The tag is layered onto some Vintage Cream cardstock, which was run through a Cuttlebug embossing folder, and then inked to distress it. That was mounted onto a panel of Melonberry card stock, and onto a Stamper's Select White card base. This was my first attempt with a "shabby chic" style, as well as the first time I used my sewing machine on a card (gasp!).

Make it Monday #113, No.3

I thought I'd give the Perfect Pearl technique one more try with the Daydreamer stamp set (PTI).  I used Blueberry cardstock this time, which seemed to work o.k. with the Perfect Pearl and Forever Green powders. I had difficulty photographing it this time, so you'll have to imagine the opalescent factor!

Make it Monday, #113, No.2

Here is another card I've done, using the same stamp and Perfect Pearl colours. But this time it will be for an upcoming graduation., and I used a bit brighter blue for the background.
Thanks for looking, and I always appreciate comments and feedback!

Make it Monday, No. 113

Papertrey Ink has another wonderful Make it Monday challenge, this week's is using Perfect Pearls. I loved the cards that Nichol demonstrated for us! I only have a few colours of Perfect Pearls, so I did what I could.
I used dark blue paper, and stamped "Lace Bouquet" with Versamark Ink. I rubbed on the Perfect Pearls, then dusted with a Swiffer cloth. I found the PP rubbed off, so then spritzed it with a fine mist of water, which seemed to set it. This first card is for a friend's birthday, in a couple weeks time. It was good to try out my "Bountiful Banners" stamps and dies.

Perfect Pearls colours: Forever Green, Forever Violet, Perfect Pearls

Make it Monday, #112 No.2

Here is a card for my great-nephew, who will have his first birthday in a couple of weeks. The "1" is heat embossed with "Lapis Lazuli" embossing powder, and the word "birthday" is embossed with a Zing green powder. The inside says, "Celebrate your birthday in a Hoppy way" (PTI "Boy Basics:Frog").
All stamps, paper and dies are PTI.

Make it Monday, #112

I have a friend who is turning 60 in a couple of weeks, so I made her this card. We are throwing a surprise Chocolate party, so I had to incorporate some of PTI's chocolate brown cardstock in with the Spring Moss, Berry Sorbet and Rustic Cream cardstocks.

On this week's Make it Monday, we have been challenged to use embossed die cuts, so I cut the "60" out of Berry Sorbet cardstock, and embossed it with Ranger's Holographic powder to give it some sparkle.
This is the first time I've used PTI's Signature Series:Dress Form stamp, as I bought this set for it's lovely sentiments. And because I didn't think I'd use the dress form much, I didn't buy the matching die! (Dumb.) I guess I'd better add that to my next order, as I really dislike cutting things out by hand... The focal point is on Mat Stack 6 dies (PTI). The background is stamped with Turning a New Leaf (PTI), and the berries are from Harvest Berries (PTI). The numbers are PTI, as well, although I've forgotten the name of the set, offhand... The sentiment is from Mega Mixed Messages (PTI).

I did a little more than I usually do on the inside, as well, but still left room for a lot of people to write their names inside, as it will be a group card. Here is the inside. I love the new Boutique Borders and am getting a lot of use out of them!

Make it Monday, #111, No. 4

Some of you may be wondering how many mothers I have, as this is my 4th Mother's Day card! But I do need 2 cards, and a store in town here is kind enough to sell a few of my extras, so I'm beginning to prepare some for them. This one is actually for my own mother :)  She likes bright colours, and her middle name is Violet.

I used my Inktense pencils to colour in the flower and leaf, which were heat embossed on watercolour paper with white embossing powder. Stamps sets are PTI's Year of Flowers:Violets, and Boutique Borders.

I copied a background technique from one of the Papertrey Ink's designers, using PTI's Background Basics:Super Stripes. I stamped the solid stripe in Perfect Medium and applied purple Perfect Pearls overtop. (Say that 3 times quickly!)
Here is a close up, angled so that you can see the shine.
Thanks for looking, and have a great day!

Make it Monday #111, No. 3

Here is another watercoloured card. I used Winter Wisteria ink and silver embossing powder on the Sweet Peas stamp, and finished it off with some multi-coloured rhinestones.  I used the Cane impression plate for some texture in the background. The sentiment is from Boutique Borders. All stamps and materials are PTI, except for Distress ink in Tumbled Glass.

I am also going to enter this card in the Simon Says Stamps challenge: Spring Flowers

Make it Monday, #111, No.2

This is another attempt at watercolour heat embossed images. Again, I used Year of Flowers:Mum as the flower. I used my Scarlet Jewel inkpad to apply some ink onto some acetate, and a waterbrush to paint the flowers.
Thanks for looking!
All materials used are PTI.
Stamps: Year of Flowers:Mum, Happy Day
Inks: Scarlet Jewel, Autumn Rose, Versamark
Paper: Kraft, Rustic Cream, Autumn Rose
Other: Filigree Border die, Photo Finishers die, white embossing powder, pearls

Make it Monday, #111

At Papertrey Ink this week, Nichol has challenged to use watercolouring on our projects. I don't have any reinkers, so I used my new Inktense watercolour pencils and a water brush to colour in PTI's Year of Flowers:Mum for the focal point, as well as the leaves. I heat embossed the flower, using white embossing powder, first. For the background, I didn't want the mums to stand out too much, so I embossed them with clear embossing powder, and then used an ink pad and water to "paint" the background. I used my new PTI "Boutique Borders" stamp and die for the tag, and finished off the front panel with PTI's Filigree die.

Make it Monday, #110, No. 6

Well, this is definitely my last collage for this challenge, but it won't be the last collage I do! I've found out how much fun they are :)
I used my Flourish stamp set again, as well as Lovely Layers and a Think Big Favourite (I forget which number). The text and dot stamps are from Gina K. Thanks for looking!
I will also link this card to this weeks Simon Says Stamp challenge:Birthday

Make it Monday #110, No. 5

Here is another effort at a collage. I have a lot of friends having birthdays in April, so I'm getting them done! I'm so happy that I finally have the Flourishes stamp set. It's been on my wish list for a long time.

All stamps and materials are PTI.

Make it Monday, #110, No.4

Yay! My PTI order finally arrived! Since I wanted to try them out, I decided to make one more collage card. I used Background Basics: Birthday, and well as Birthday Style to make this card. I can't believe I didn't have a balloon stamp, or die, till now!
I screwed up my courage and used Summer Sunrise ink and cardstock, even though I'm not an "orange" person. It's good to get out of your comfort zone now and then.
All materials are PTI.
I have also linked this to the Simon Says Stamp challenge: Birthday.

Make it Monday, #110, No. 3

I couldn't leave the craft table until I'd done something I was satisfied with! So here is attempt No. 3. I think I'm beginning to get the hang of this collage idea, as I like this one a little better.
Thanks for looking!
All materials are Papertrey Ink, unless otherwise noted:
Stamps: Carte Postale, Turning a New Leaf, Rosie Posie, Vintage Labels (swirl embellishment), Think Big Favourites: #24, Harvest Berries
Inks: Linen, Soft Stone, Spring Moss, Smokey Shadow, Berry Sorbet, Summer Sunrise
Paper: Ivory, Berry Sorbet, Spring Moss

Make it Monday, #110, No.2

Well, I think I am "Collage Challenged"! I tried to make a more masculine birthday card, using  Dawn's Collage idea, and came up with this. I really like CAS styles, but I can't seem to do them, as this one seems too "busy". I guess I'll have to keep practicing... :)
Thanks for looking!
All materials are Papertrey Ink, unless otherwise noted.
Stamps: Embroidered Blooms (sentiment), BB:Superstripes, BB:Medallions, Carte Postale, Happy Harlequins
Inks: Aqua Mist, Soft Stone, Smokey Shadow, Soft Granite (Hero Arts)
Paper: Antique White, Aqua Mist, Smokey Shadow
Other: Washi Tape (Recollections), Chevron die (MFT) twine (stash)

Make it Monday, #110

Dawn McVey at Papertrey Ink has challenged us with making us a collage this week. This is a challenge for me, as I've never done this, really (it's not my "style"... if I even have a style!). So here is my take on the idea of a collage. I've used the World Map stamp, with the balloons and cloud stamps from Up, Up and Away layered over top, along with a sentiment from the same set. I then die cut more balloons and clouds, stamped and layered them on top of the stamped outlines, trying for a sensation of depth.
Thanks for stopping by!
All stamps and paper are PTI. Inks are a combination of PTI, Memento and Hero Arts.
